Tree Removal & Pruning In St. Albert
St. Albert has some of the best trees in the region and some of the biggest. The older neighbourhoods along the Sturgeon River, places like Grandin, Sturgeon Heights, Braeside and Forest Lawn, were planted 50-plus years ago, and a lot of those spruce and elms are now taller than the houses they were planted beside. That’s where most of our St. Albert work is: big spruce that have outgrown the yard, elms that need pruning inside the legal window, and the odd poplar that’s lifting the driveway.
Up in the newer areas like Erin Ridge, Jensen Lakes and Riverside, it’s the opposite problem. Young trees that were never trained, ash and maples growing into the eaves, cedars that got away. Either way, we’re in St. Albert most weeks. It’s a short drive up the Trail from the north side of Edmonton.

Perfect experience having a tree pruned. The crew did a great job, on time, courteous and left the sight spotlessly clean. Estimate was easy, and prompt, as was scheduling the work. Couldn’t be happierPosted on Google![]()

Edmonton Arborists were fantastic through the whole process. They were communicative, quick to respond, and happy to answer questions. They were able to schedule the removal of our tree within a week of the quote coming back, and the 4 man team were excellent. They were efficient, did a great job, and spent the time to clean up our yard once they were finished. It was overall an excellent experience, and we would absolutely have them back to do any other services we may need.Posted on Google![]()

What We Do In St. Albert
- Tree removal: dead, dangerous, too big for the lot, or just in the way. Climber or bucket truck, chipped and cleaned up the same day.
- Tree trimming and pruning: deadwood out, weight off the limbs over the house, fruit trees opened up, elms done inside the legal window.
- Stump grinding: $215 for a single stump, done the same visit as the removal or on its own.
- Hedge and bush pruning: cedars, lilacs, caragana, the overgrown stuff along the fence.
- Storm damage: limbs on roofs, split trunks, hangers. Text a photo and we’ll triage it.
- Tree planting: the right tree for the spot, delivered and planted.
What It Costs In St. Albert

St. Albert Specifics
Elms. St. Albert has a lot of them, and Alberta’s Dutch Elm Disease rules apply here the same as in Edmonton: pruning only between October 1 and March 31, and elm wood has to be disposed of properly, never left as firewood. We handle the disposal on every elm job.
Boulevard trees. The trees on the city side of the sidewalk belong to the City of St. Albert, not you. We can’t touch those. Anything on your side of the property line is yours to deal with, and you don’t need a permit.
River valley lots. Backyards that drop toward the Sturgeon are beautiful and a pain to work in. We rig everything down in pieces and carry it out. It costs a bit more than a flat lot, and we’ll tell you that up front rather than surprise you.
Why Edmonton Arborist
Edmonton Arborist has been doing this since 2018 and we’ve got 850+ Google reviews at 4.9 stars to show for it. Three-person crews, our own bucket truck, chippers and stump grinders. Fully insured and WCB covered, and we’ll show you the paperwork if you ask (you should ask everyone). We don’t push chemicals, we don’t top trees, and we’ll tell you “leave it alone” when that’s the right answer.
