Tree Removal & Pruning In Spruce Grove
The name isn’t a coincidence. Spruce Grove and the Parkland County acreages around it are full of spruce, aspen and poplar, and the wind comes across those fields with nothing to slow it down. We get a lot of calls from the west side after a windstorm: split poplars, spruce leaning toward the house, shelterbelts with a few dead ones in the row.
In town, the older streets in Woodlands, Brookwood and around the downtown core have mature trees that need real pruning, and the newer neighbourhoods like Harvest Ridge and Spruce Ridge have young trees that need training before they turn into problems. Out on the acreages it’s bigger jobs: clearing a building site, taking down a dying shelterbelt, dropping a row of dead poplar before it drops itself.

Perfect experience having a tree pruned. The crew did a great job, on time, courteous and left the sight spotlessly clean. Estimate was easy, and prompt, as was scheduling the work. Couldn’t be happierPosted on Google![]()

Edmonton Arborists were fantastic through the whole process. They were communicative, quick to respond, and happy to answer questions. They were able to schedule the removal of our tree within a week of the quote coming back, and the 4 man team were excellent. They were efficient, did a great job, and spent the time to clean up our yard once they were finished. It was overall an excellent experience, and we would absolutely have them back to do any other services we may need.Posted on Google![]()

What We Do In Spruce Grove
- Tree removal: dead, dangerous, too big for the lot, or just in the way. Climber or bucket truck, chipped and cleaned up the same day.
- Tree trimming and pruning: deadwood out, weight off the limbs over the house, fruit trees opened up, elms done inside the legal window.
- Stump grinding: $215 for a single stump, done the same visit as the removal or on its own.
- Hedge and bush pruning: cedars, lilacs, caragana, the overgrown stuff along the fence.
- Storm damage: limbs on roofs, split trunks, hangers. Text a photo and we’ll triage it.
- Tree planting: the right tree for the spot, delivered and planted.

Spruce Grove Specifics
Aspen and poplar. They grow fast, they die young, and when they go they sucker from the roots for years. We take them down, chip them, and grind the stumps so the suckers stop. If you’ve got a whole stand, it’s priced as one job.
Wind. West of the city the trees take a beating. Heavy horizontal limbs and co-dominant trunks (the V-shaped ones) are what fail. A dormant-season prune to take the weight off is a lot cheaper than a limb through the garage roof in October.
Acreage access. We’ve got the equipment to work a long driveway and a big yard. Firewood stays if you want it. Just tell us about buried lines, dog fences and old fence posts before the stump grinder shows up.
Why Edmonton Arborist
Edmonton Arborist has been doing this since 2018 and we’ve got 850+ Google reviews at 4.9 stars to show for it. Three-person crews, our own bucket truck, chippers and stump grinders. Fully insured and WCB covered, and we’ll show you the paperwork if you ask (you should ask everyone). We don’t push chemicals, we don’t top trees, and we’ll tell you “leave it alone” when that’s the right answer.
Spruce Grove Questions
Do you cover Parkland County acreages?
Yes. Spruce Grove, Stony Plain, Acheson and the acreages in between are in our regular area. No trip charge.
Can you clear a bunch of dead poplar at once?
That’s a normal day for us. Multi-tree jobs are priced as one job. Send a photo of the row and a rough count.
Do you take down shelterbelts?
Yes, whole rows or just the dead ones. We can leave the good ones standing and grind the stumps on the rest.
