Tree Removal & Pruning In Sherwood Park

Sherwood Park was built in the 60s and 70s and planted with spruce. Lots of spruce. Drive through Glen Allan, Sherwood Heights, Brentwood or Mills Haven and you’ll see 60-foot Colorado spruce six feet from a foundation, because in 1972 it was a cute little tree from the nursery. Taking those down safely in a tight yard is a big part of what we do in the Park.

The other half is the county. Strathcona County acreages out toward Ardrossan and south of Wye Road have shelterbelts of poplar and aspen that are hitting the end of their lives all at once, plus the big spruce rows that were planted as windbreaks. Multi-tree jobs, clearing for a new shop, dead poplar along a driveway, that kind of thing. We bring the chipper and the bucket truck and make a day of it.

Perfect experience having a tree pruned. The crew did a great job, on time, courteous and left the sight spotlessly clean. Estimate was easy, and prompt, as was scheduling the work. Couldn’t be happier

Edmonton Arborists were fantastic through the whole process. They were communicative, quick to respond, and happy to answer questions. They were able to schedule the removal of our tree within a week of the quote coming back, and the 4 man team were excellent. They were efficient, did a great job, and spent the time to clean up our yard once they were finished. It was overall an excellent experience, and we would absolutely have them back to do any other services we may need.

What We Do In Sherwood Park

  • Tree removal: dead, dangerous, too big for the lot, or just in the way. Climber or bucket truck, chipped and cleaned up the same day.
  • Tree trimming and pruning: deadwood out, weight off the limbs over the house, fruit trees opened up, elms done inside the legal window.
  • Stump grinding: $215 for a single stump, done the same visit as the removal or on its own.
  • Hedge and bush pruning: cedars, lilacs, caragana, the overgrown stuff along the fence.
  • Storm damage: limbs on roofs, split trunks, hangers. Text a photo and we’ll triage it.
  • Tree planting: the right tree for the spot, delivered and planted.

What It Costs In Sherwood Park

Same prices as Edmonton. Travel is built into the quote, there’s no separate trip charge. From our rates page: tree removal runs $385 to $500 for a small tree, $500 to $900 medium, $900 to $2,000+ for a large one. Pruning is $385 to $1,500+ depending on size. Stumps are $215 for one. Seniors get 10% off.

To get an exact number, text a few photos of the tree to (780) 266-1919 or use the quote form. We price almost everything from photos, usually within a day, and nobody has to come out and stand in your yard first.

Sherwood Park Specifics

Big spruce in small yards. This is the Sherwood Park specialty. We climb or bucket it, rig the limbs down, and nothing lands on the fence or the neighbour’s shed. Dead spruce are actually quicker than live ones, so don’t panic if yours has gone brown. Spruce under the power service need a bit more care, and we’ll flag that in the quote.

Acreage work. Multiple trees get priced as one job, not tree by tree, so a row of ten dead poplar is a lot cheaper per tree than you’d think. Firewood stays on site if you want it, which most acreage owners do.

County trees. Trees on your own property are yours, no permit needed. Trees in the county road allowance aren’t. If you’re not sure where the line is, we’ll help you figure it out before anyone cuts anything.

Why Edmonton Arborist

Edmonton Arborist has been doing this since 2018 and we’ve got 850+ Google reviews at 4.9 stars to show for it. Three-person crews, our own bucket truck, chippers and stump grinders. Fully insured and WCB covered, and we’ll show you the paperwork if you ask (you should ask everyone). We don’t push chemicals, we don’t top trees, and we’ll tell you “leave it alone” when that’s the right answer.

Sherwood Park Questions

Yes, regularly. Ardrossan, South Cooking Lake, the Wye Road and Baseline corridors. Travel is built into the quote, no separate charge.

That’s most of our Sherwood Park work. We take it down in pieces from the top. Send a photo that shows the tree and the house and we’ll quote it.

Yes. Multiple stumps are priced as one job. If the area is being cleared with a hoe anyway, you can skip grinding and we’ll just leave the stumps flush.
