Tree Removal & Pruning In Fort Saskatchewan
Fort Saskatchewan is one of the older towns around Edmonton, and the downtown and the neighbourhoods along the river have the trees to prove it: big spruce, elms, poplars, and a lot of mature fruit trees in the back yards. The newer areas like Southfort and Westpark are young trees that need training. Between the two, plus the acreages out toward Josephburg and Gibbons, there’s enough work that we’re in the Fort regularly.
Most of what we do here is big-tree work in older yards: a 60-foot spruce that’s now leaning over the garage, an elm that needs pruning in the legal window, a poplar that’s heaving the sidewalk, apple trees that haven’t been touched in 20 years and are producing golf balls.

Perfect experience having a tree pruned. The crew did a great job, on time, courteous and left the sight spotlessly clean. Estimate was easy, and prompt, as was scheduling the work. Couldn’t be happierPosted on Google![]()

Edmonton Arborists were fantastic through the whole process. They were communicative, quick to respond, and happy to answer questions. They were able to schedule the removal of our tree within a week of the quote coming back, and the 4 man team were excellent. They were efficient, did a great job, and spent the time to clean up our yard once they were finished. It was overall an excellent experience, and we would absolutely have them back to do any other services we may need.Posted on Google![]()

What We Do In Fort Saskatchewan
- Tree removal: dead, dangerous, too big for the lot, or just in the way. Climber or bucket truck, chipped and cleaned up the same day.
- Tree trimming and pruning: deadwood out, weight off the limbs over the house, fruit trees opened up, elms done inside the legal window.
- Stump grinding: $215 for a single stump, done the same visit as the removal or on its own.
- Hedge and bush pruning: cedars, lilacs, caragana, the overgrown stuff along the fence.
- Storm damage: limbs on roofs, split trunks, hangers. Text a photo and we’ll triage it.
- Tree planting: the right tree for the spot, delivered and planted.

Fort Saskatchewan Specifics
River valley yards. The lots that back onto the North Saskatchewan are great to live on and tricky to work in. We rig everything down in pieces. It costs a bit more than a flat lot and we’ll say so in the quote, not after.
Fruit trees. The Fort has a lot of old apple, crabapple and plum trees. A proper late-winter prune opens them up and gets you bigger fruit instead of more fruit. Apple pruning is one of the things we’re asked about most.
Elms. Pruning only October 1 to March 31, wood disposed of properly, same as everywhere in Alberta. We handle the disposal.
Why Edmonton Arborist
Edmonton Arborist has been doing this since 2018 and we’ve got 850+ Google reviews at 4.9 stars to show for it. Three-person crews, our own bucket truck, chippers and stump grinders. Fully insured and WCB covered, and we’ll show you the paperwork if you ask (you should ask everyone). We don’t push chemicals, we don’t top trees, and we’ll tell you “leave it alone” when that’s the right answer.
